The fall thunder returns to the mountains of the Teton Range, Sept. 12 - 14, 2008
.....in the form of high horsepower racing machines!

The annual Rotary Teton Hillclimb race is held on the access road to the Grand Targhee Resort, located near Alta, Wyoming and Driggs, Idaho. The lodges, pit area, and race headquarters are all located at the top of the course, making Grand Targhee Resort an excellent host facility for the hillclimb race. The race course is an 8 turn, 2 mile section of full two lane, recently paved, excellent road that climbs 500 feet in elevation, ending near the Grand Targhee Resort with the finish line elevation at approximately 8000 feet. Some corners are protected with guardrails or dirt embankments, but there is significant exposure on the last several corners. The race will be run with cars in assigned race groups, as the road must be open for local traffic and public access every 30 minutes. Our goal is to accomplish 6 to 8 safe, timed runs for all drivers, depending on weather.

The hillclimb race is open to cars competing in approximately 30 classes, including street cars, open wheel formula cars, production based road race cars, and modified sports cars. Race entry is limited to 60 drivers. A fun and delicious Saturday night buffet dinner will be available at Grand Targhee Resort. There is no fuel, auto parts, etc. available at the race site. Auto services are available in the town of Driggs, Idaho, approximately ten miles from the resort.

The Rotary Teton Hillclimb is organized and staffed by the Rotary Club of Teton Valley with the assistance of the Eastern Idaho Sports Car Club, and is sanctioned by the Northwest Hillclimb Association. If you have a good time at this event, please let these people know. If you have complaints, let us know so that we can improve the race next year. As always, safety first, and have a great time. If you are interested in sports cars and/or hillclimbs but do not want to race, please consider becoming a volunteer corner worker and enjoy the weekend watching great cars and racing in the mountains. Corner workers do get the best seats to see the race! The funds raised by the Rotary Club of Teton Valley will be primarily used to support our scholarship program for deserving high school seniors. Our goal is to enjoy the cars, have fun racing, enjoy the fellowship of the racers and their families and good food in the evenings. What a great way to end the Northwest Hillclimb season, please come and enjoy it with us!
